A "Quality" (I think not!) Development By Jackson Homes!

So it's not Jackson Home's problem any longer, the bank owns accroding to Mr. Roy Holley of Houska & Holley Homes I can't believe someone would attach there name you what they are doing to this property and how it's affecting the homes around it! No to meantion the City of Arnold is allowing it to happen!

Left me start off by saying that this development has been in the making since about Jan. 2005.
During which time they have done nothing to better this property to put it nicely.

In my research about Silt Fences I found this link

I have a little story I want to share which only adds to the headaches that goes along with this deserted development / subdivision. I want to first off say not in a million years expect this to happen so close to my home, but from what I'm coming to realize it's part of living where we live, which is so sad to say ...

The other night my husband was talking about putting a water barrel at one of our down spouts as a water conservation effect to save some water and money when watering our plants and new garden we started. During my evening walk with my son in this deserted development / subdivision, I notice what look like construction waste, possible dump site? But there was a 55 Gal. drum. It wasn't your normal color blue, lord knows I don't want a blue water barrel next to my house. Well this was a black one, it had a nice lid, it appeared to be in great condition. So I left my 18 month old son at the curb, strapped in his stroller and started towards the barrel. I removed the band that was holding the lid on, and took the lid off. I found a bunch of paper towels and a ziplock bag with an empty 2 liter bottle with like hospital tubes connected to it, which seemed odd to me but what was even worse was the smell that came from the black barrel. I thought if this is what I think it is, I better leave it be and get a way. I'm first concern was my son! Again I wasn't sure, I don't do drugs, I was only going on hear say. But I thought better safe than sorry, when Connor and I got back from our walk at about 7 I grabbed my phone and called the police and explained to the woman what I had stumbled on. She passed me to her sgt. And I explained it all again and said I didn't know if it was worth reporting because I wasn't sure. He proceeding to tell me that I need to stay away from hazard materials. Hello! How was I suppose to know it didn't have a huge hazardous sticker on it, I thought he was actually pretty rude, he thanked me and I apologized again, and that was the last of it until my phone rang at 10:15 that night. It was a Narcotics Officer saying, "Good find it was a meth dump site." My first words were, "Are you serious?" and he proceeded to tell me that it was good thing that I called it in when I did that were still some very active ingredients. Said that his guys had to dress in there little white suits to removed the contents of the barrel. I was just in shock, this was to close to my home. I didn't ask the officer any more questions just answered his. He asked my full name, D.O.B., address and phone number for his report as I was the person who discovered it. He again thanked me and said great find. I told him I had no idea that is what it was and thought better safe than sorry. I got off the phone and explained every thing to my husband as he hadn't been home that night. Told him how stupid I felt for calling the police, and how stupid the sgt. made me feel but again better safe than sorry. I couldn't get the thought out of my head, very active ingredients and I opened the barrel with my son only a few feet away, what if …

   March 16th 2009 ....

All I can say is wow, totally can’t not believe that just happened to me! This will be the 2nd time I will have said that in regards to this development. ( the first I have also wrote about on this page. ) I’ve settled down and it’s been about an hour but I still can’t believe it. So let me explain. Everyone knows where I live. I live in Arnold, and there is a development that has been in the works since Jan 2005. It’s a total eye sore. The property has changed hands so many times, I’m not sure who owns its now! But I made a phone call to Houska & Holley who I believe to be the new developer. There is a sign at the beginning of the subdivision – you know one of those stating when city hall will be having a public hearing meeting. ( The picture below explains why I "ASSUMED" what I did. ) So I looked up H&H and called 636-479-9999  Houska & Holley and spoke with a secretary, not a nice one. I asked her if I may speak to someone in regards to Foxwood Subdivion? She put me on hold, didn’t ask me to hold. Came back on the line and asked for my name and number and I gave it to her and then asked, “So there isn’t anyone I can speak to?” That’s when she said, “I will give your name and number to the appropriate person.” Which to me seemed like the run around, but I said, “thank you.” And hung up thinking I won’t ever hear from them again. So I decided to call the City, the person I needed to speak to is out of the office until tomorrow. So I left a message. I explained what I was wanting. Very simple our property backs to this development and I wanted to see if they could send someone out to fix the silt fences as they are in bad shape. Just said that I know what April weather brings… and left it at that, and asked that she would call me back when she got a chance. I’ve had to make this phone call before but I used to make it to Odell Contracting (Don’t quote me on that – it was Odell something) James/Jim was the man’s name, very very nice man. Wish he was the contact person on the job again! So you see all I’m looking for is to have someone come out and fix the silt fence. I thought since in the past we have always dealt with the builder/contractor and not the city, it would be easiest to make a direct phone call rather than call the city and them call.  Seemed simple enough, like in the past.

To my surprise I did get a phone call back from Houska & Holley. When I picked up the phone, the gentleman asked for me and the first thing he ask who I was with, I gave him my name again, told him my property backed to this development, that I am just a concern homeowner. I began to explain to him the situation with the silt fences, and April weather… he cut my sentence off and began yelling at me about how he has put money out of his pocket to help this eye sore out and that it was money that it’s money he will never see back. He continued to yell at me about how he will not have me demanding anything out of him, that the bank owns the property …. When he was finished yelling at me I calmly apologized to him for assuming, I know what assuming means, I tried to explain to him in the past I have always contacted the builder/contractor for any problems or needs we have had. In fact they have come to us asking us to come to them before going to the city. I asked him for his name, and again I told him I was sorry, I didn’t mean to upset him. At some point he hung up and that’s where and when I can’t stop saying wow. This man is suppose to be a professional yet acts in such an unbelievable manor! Honestly my husband doesn’t even talk to me the way this man did. After this conversation I called my husband, I had to call someone and I already knew the person I needed to talk to at the city was out of the office. I was so frazzled that something I thought was no big deal turned into me getting yelled at by a grown man. This upset my husband and he called Houska and Holley and found out who I spoke with. Believe it or not it’s Roy Holley himself.
